Fred Loomis

Senior Technical Sales Executive

Driven by Service. Built on Experience. Committed to the Mission.

Insight Earned at Sea, Applied Every Day

Fred Loomis’s career started on the water—literally. After more than a decade working on tugboats, he brought that firsthand maritime experience ashore, where it continues to shape how he supports the people who keep our Navy mission-ready.

Before stepping into a career in maritime valve manufacturing, Fred spent over a decade at sea on tugboats, learning firsthand what it takes to keep things running under pressure. That experience became a defining moment, guiding the choices and work that came next.

Committed to Solutions That Serve the Mission

Fred brings more than 27 years of industry experience to his role as Senior Technical Sales Executive at Dante Valve. Known as a problem-solver and relationship builder, he’s recognized for thinking ahead, acting fast, and keeping the customer’s mission at the center of every decision.

Before joining Dante Valve, Fred spent 26 years at W&O Supply, rising to Vice President of Sales and Technical. Today, he applies that experience to support organizations like the Defense Logistics Agency and major shipyards, helping navigate complex valve requirements with solutions that are practical, efficient, and reliable.

If there’s a solution, we’ll find it—even if it means doing things differently.

“When you’ve worked on the ships, you understand the urgency. These folks are running ops, chasing threats, and they can’t afford delays. That’s why we work the way we do.”

The Jones Act – And Why It’s Important

Through his involvement in maritime associations and his advocacy for domestic manufacturing, Fred remains a strong supporter of the Jones Act—a key piece of U.S. maritime law established in 1920 that continues to play a vital role in both national defense and economic security.

The Jones Act requires that goods shipped between U.S. ports must be:

Transported on vessels
built in the United States

Owned by
U.S. companies

Crewed by
American citizens

Fred believes the Jones Act is more than just policy, it’s a strategic safeguard. It protects America’s shipbuilding capacity, supports high-quality American jobs, and ensures the U.S. retains the infrastructure and skilled workforce needed to build and maintain both commercial and military ships. Just as importantly, it ensures we can respond rapidly in times of crisis.

“If we didn’t have the Jones Act, we wouldn’t have a commercial maritime industry, and without that, our Navy would face serious supply chain risks.”

Leading with Integrity, Building for the Future

Fred is also a strong believer in collaboration. He actively contributes to professional groups like the Shipbuilders Council of America (SCA), the Marine Machinery Association (MMA), Aircraft Carrier Industrial Base Coalition (ACIBC), and Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME). He sees those partnerships not just as networking, but as essential to driving innovation and supporting a stronger defense industrial base. Fred also believes the strongest defense starts with strong people, and he’s committed to guiding the next generation.

I love bringing in new talent, helping them find their footing, and passing down what I’ve learned. That’s how this industry stays strong.

Fred’s colleagues say he leads with integrity, shows up when it matters, and always brings a steady hand. At Dante Valve, he’s not just a technical expert, he’s part of the company’s ongoing commitment to quality, readiness, and supporting the U.S. Navy and its partners around the world.
